The Isle Of Capri

Capri has been a resort since the time of the Roman Republic. It is an island on the south side of the Gulf of Naples in the Campania region of Italy. The main town Capri on the island shares the name. You can travel by hydrofoil from Sorrento to the Island and back, take the funicular up to Capri town continuing up to Anacapri and then take a chair lift to the top of Mt. Salerno to enjoy the breathtaking views.

The Isle of Capri is a short boat ride from Sorrento or Naples and is well worth a visit. The main square of Capri has steep prices but the window shopping is free, however up the hill lies Anacapri, the island’s second town with fewer tourists, a little more character, and a passion for colorful Majolica tiles.
