Izola is an historic city on the Slovenian Adria coast. The idyllic old town and atmospheric, narrow streets date back to Roman times. However, from 1280 to 1797, Venice ruled the old fishing city and characterised its appearance. Thus the famous Venetian-inspired Palazzo Besenghi Degli Ughi was created, a Baroque palace built at the end of the eighteenth century.
