This video takes you to the Cumbrian Lake District, the perfect spot for relaxtion, scenic hiking, and hilltop picnics.
Hiking through the Cumbrian Lake District — England’s green and pristine mountain playground — we’ll admire idyllic lakes, discover misty waterfalls, tour a slate mine, and conquer stony summits. And we’ll meet the locals — and their beloved dogs and sheep — everywhere. Then we play a little cricket, hike Hadrian’s Wall, and get dazzled by Durham’s Norman cathedral.
Not all Lake District walks are country walks. This is a pleasant stroll from the Old Bridge House in Ambleside town centre up to the waterfalls in Stock Ghyll Park.
Video guide to the Lake District area from Teletext Holidays. England’s largest National Park includes: Scafell Pike – its highest mountain, Wastwater – its deepest lake and thriving communities like Keswick and Bowness-on-Windermere.
This walk was obtained from go4awalk.com. You can download a map, instructions and GPS files if you need them. The walk starts in Buttermere village, along the lake, up Haystacks and back down the other side of the lake. This is a great walk, in the footsteps of Wainwright who’s ashes are said to be scattered at Innominate Tarn.
