The Glacier Express is a train which connects the two major mountain resorts of St. Moritz and Zermatt in the Swiss Alps. It is not an “express” in the sense of being a high-speed train but rather in the sense that it provides a one-seat ride for a long duration travel. This was a long running BBC series. The best way to go across North America in 1980 was by train. However it is worth noting this journey cannot be duplicated today as the Broadway limited stopped running in 1995.
