Great Smoky Mountains Railroad

The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad is a beautiful scenic train ride at any time of the year. It takes you through a remote corner of western North Carolina into river gorges, across fertile valleys and through tunnels carved out of mountains. The whole trip is around 4.5 hours long. It is very family oriented and you will see some beautiful scenic mountain views.
