Walking In The Alpes Maritimes

Walking in the south of France is a wonderful experience, and this unspoilt part of the Maritime Alps is the best of all French walking holidays. You can try a self-guided hike from La Brigue, on the France/Italy border, down the Roya Valley to beautiful Menton on the Riviera, taking in Saorge, Breil, Sospel, and Ste Agnes.

This alpine region just behind the Côte d’Azur in the eastern part of Provence is really wonderful. The Mercantour National Park holds some of the best alpine butterfly habitats in Europe.
