Walking In The Gardens Of France
If you are a keen gardener, or merely enjoy admiring the work of others, France is a fantastic location for a holiday; nowhere else in the world can have such a collection of lovely gardens in quite such stunning locations – wonderful garden creations with spectacular views over sea, mountains and coastal towns.
If you are visiting the French Riviera you can explore many beautiful and unique gardens.
The gardens that you could visit include Jardin Exotique in Eze, where a fascinating array of cacti perches on a rocky peak with wonderful views of the stunning coastline below. You could also visit the seven gardens beside the Rothschild Villa on Cap Ferrat, each based on a different theme: Spanish, Florentine, Japanese, Provençal, Oriental, Exotic and classic French, tended originally by gardeners dressed as sailors.
Menton has the lush tropical gardens of the Val Rameh with an Arts and Crafts feel to them, as well as a possible visit to the gardens of the Serre de la Madone, designed by Laurence Johnson who also designed the gardens of Hidcote.
